New president of CEC

Porto-based designer and shoe manufacturer Luís Onofre is to become the new president of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) in May, taking over from Cleto Sagripanti of Italy.

Mr Onofre became the president of his national footwear industry association, Apiccaps, in 2017. He represents the third generation of a family-run shoe company and specialises in high-end designs for women. His customers have included Michelle Obama and Queen Letizia of Spain.

He will hold the presidency of CEC for the next three years.
