Another victory for Louboutin in trademark fight
High-end shoe brand Christian Louboutin has welcomed a ruling from a district court in The Hague that Dutch retailer Van Haren must stop selling high-heeled shoes with a red heel.

It is the latest stage in a long-running battle which has seen Louboutin attempt to protect the distinctive red soles of its products.

The ruling of February 6 ordered Van Haren to stop selling its own red-soled heels. It must also destroy all existing copies of the footwear and provide details of the outlets where they were sold. A judgement on compensation will be made at a later date.

In a statement, the Louboutin brand said: “Christian Louboutin warmly welcomes this new judgement, which further strengthens the favourable decisions regarding the validity of the red sole trademark already issued in many countries.”
