Argentina: leathergoods and footwear SMEs are hardest hit
03/01/2019
These show the results of a monthly production survey that the organisation, Confederación Argentina de la Mediana Empresa (CAME), carries out among 300 Argentinean SMEs. CAME’s figures for November show an overall decline in production of 5.6% compared to the same month in 2017.
Alarmingly, the decline in the footwear and leathergoods sector was substantially steeper, with CAME putting the figure at 18.2% lower than in November 2017. It said shoe and leathergoods manufacturers registered a sharper fall in production than SMEs in any other sector.
In total, 25 footwear and leathergoods manufacturers took part in the CAME survey for November.
