Lost jobs in Argentina: the number keeps going up
07/11/2018
At a union leaders’ meeting at the start of November, Mr Aguilar put the figure at around 16,000 for the leather and leathergoods supply chain. He warned that every sector of the Argentinean economy that is as dependent on small and medium-sized companies as leather is faces the same problem.
He broke the figure down, saying that footwear in Argentina has now lost 10,000 jobs since 2015, while the figures for leathergoods manufacturing and tanning are 3,500 and 3,000 respectively.
