The shoes, created by UAE-based brand Jada Dubai, are reported to be worth 62.4 million dirham, which equates to around $17 million.
They were launched at the end of September at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the world’s only seven-star hotel. The pair on display there are a prototype, with them available made to order in the size requested by the buyer.
Reports suggest the shoes took nine months to produce. They feature two 15-carat diamonds on the upper and are adorned with hundreds more flawless diamonds. The name of the brand and of its partner in this endeavour, Passions Jewelers, are inscribed in gold on the insoles.
