Bangladesh Leather and Footwear Expo concludes in Dhaka

The fourth edition of Bangladesh Leather and Footwear Expo took place in Dhaka from July 26-28. Exhibitors were mostly tanners and footwear and leathergoods manufacturers from Bangladesh,  plus machinery and components companies from China, Italy, Turkey, India, Thailand and Taiwan.

Bangladesh’s minister for industry, Amir Hossain Amu, formally opened the event and reminded participants of the importance of the leather industry in the government’s plans for developing the country’s economy. He pointed out that the government has set the industry a target of reaching $5 billion in annual turnover.
