Renewable resources feature prominently at polyurethane conference

The use of renewable resources in manufacturing polyurethanes was a key focus at the 2018 UTECH Europe conference in Maastricht (May 29-31).

Organisers have said that the conference programme included 15 papers devoted to this subject.

There was a keynote address from Patrick Thomas, the outgoing chief executive of Covestro, plus a strategic overview of the polyurethanes market from Robert Outram, assistant director at global chemical industry consultancy IAL.

Other speakers at the UTECH Europe conference include Marc Fricke and Frank Fechner of BASF Polyurethanes, Alberto Mercati and Paul Cookson of Dow Polyurethanes, Martin Glos of Evonik, Kristof Dedecker and Geert Dries of Huntsman, and Jon Penrice of Dow Chemical.
