Production gets underway at new Zimbabwe shoe factory

21/05/2018
Operations have officially begun at a new shoe factory at the Bulawayo Leather Cluster in Zimbabwe after a series of issues delayed its opening.

The factory has an annual production capacity of more than 158,000 pairs. Its workers have undertaken specialised training with the help of Comesa.

Production is already underway for local customers, with the operators targeting overseas orders in the near future.

Equipment for the new facility was also provided with help from Comesa. It included a sole processing machine and a shoe last machine.
