Shoe exports from Pakistan go up in value

Pakistan’s leather industry recorded growth of 1.7% in export revenues during the first nine months of current financial year, July 2017 to March 2018. In total, companies in the leather sector brought in $711.4 million over the nine-month period.

Footwear manufacturers exported 7.3 million pairs of shoes over the period, bringing in $72.3 million. This indicates a fall in volume of 1.1% but an increase in value of 11.8% compared to the same nine-month period in the previous financial year.
