Softer nylon polyamide fibres, plus fast processing for clothes are among the benefits that chemical manufacturer Clariant believes will come from new additive solutions for plastics. It relieved the new solutions at the Chinaplas 2018 exhibition in Shanghai.

Its new solutions – AddWorksATR 146, AddWorks LXR 568 and AddWorks TFB 117 – are specifically aimed at improving performance and efficiency of plastics materials for compounders, polymer and fibre producers in China’s major plastics manufacturing segments.

“Within the next three years, China is expected to account for 40% of the world’s nylon production and more than 30% of the nylon resin consumed globally,” Clariant said at the time of the announcement, quoting market intelligence firm IHS Markit. “The new AddWorks TFB 117 offers a number of benefits to help stabilise and smooth fibre production processes, protect colour, and improve heat stability and mechanical properties of fibres.”
