SATRA revises four test methods

Footwear research and testing body SATRA has published four revised test methods. The revisions have taken place to cross-reference each of the tests to other technical standards and to incorporate updated figures.

Each test method has also undergone specific technical amendments.

The tests concerned are TM123:2018 for close fastener strength, TM94:1993 for the breaking force of shoe laces, TM159:2018 for cushioning properties and TM335:1994 for colour fastness with exposure to water or perspiration.

Since its foundation in 1919, SATRA has devised more than 450 different tests for footwear.
