Double-digit growth in revenues for BASF

Chemicals manufacturer BASF has reported full-year sales revenues for 2017 of almost €65 billion, an increase of 12% compared to 2016.

Group chairman, Dr Kurt Bock, said that economic activity in many parts of the world had picked up in 2017 and that BASF had been in a good position to take advantage.

Sales for its functional materials and solutions division increased by 11% in 2017 to reach €20.7 billion, although BASF’s earnings from this part of its business fell by 23% compared to the figure for 2016, reaching just over €2.2 billion.
