Assintecal vice-president says Inspiramais is for all of Latin America

Buyers of footwear materials and components, including leather, travelled from Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Mexico and Ecuador to São Paulo for the event. Addressing them, Assintecal’s vice-president for overseas trade, Lisiane Kunst, said Inspiramais was for the whole of Latin America.
“There is inspiration for the whole continent here,” Ms Kunst said, “and I would like to see us work as a continent, work in a much more united way. Each of our countries seems to come up with its own style, its own fashion. In Europe, they are much more united.”
Something else she said has stood in the way of progress in Latin America has been over-emphasis on volume and price in terms of finished footwear, but she said footwear manufacturers there are now “on the road to greater inspiration with more fashion and more added value”.
