Online retailer Spartoo to buy French shoe brand

According to reports from France, online fashion retailer Spartoo is to buy shoe brand André from the Vivarte retail group. Reuters said it expected a formal announcement to come on January 9.

André was formed in Paris at the start of the twentieth century and currently has around 100 shoe stores in different parts of France. Its financial performance has been disappointing for some time and Vivarte announced at the start of 2017 that it was putting the shoe brand up for sale.
