Ex-John Lobb artisan launches own label
Artisan shoemaker Philippe Atienza, who worked previously at Massaro and at John Lobb, has spoken up recently to raise the profile of his own Paris-based made-to-measure footwear business. He set the new workshop up in 2016 to make shoes for men and women. Its location is the Viaduc des Arts, a hub for artisan start-ups close to the French capital’s Gare de Lyon.

Mr Atienza said in recent comments that he enjoys the new challenge that each pair of shoes represents. A collector of traditional shoemaker’s tools, he said he also enjoys using old technology and old techniques to make shoes that are in keeping with contemporary tastes.

“Each pair of made-to-measure shoes is a creation that is born of the artisan’s hands to protect the wearer’s feet,” he said in recent comments.
