Safety footwear focus for BASF
16/10/2017
Among the applications BASF will highlight at the exhibition is a special material it developed for Belgian safety footwear brand Bekina Boots. The material offers “outstanding” electric shock resistance (ESR), BASF said in the build-up to the show. It said the new boot is the first ESR product made from PU rather than rubber or PVC.
An expanded range of Elastopan products for winter boots will also be on display in Düsseldorf. This material can now allow footwear manufacturers to make a boot that will have high levels of insulation, while being lightweight and flexible (allowing wearers to move their legs easily), even at minus-20 degrees Celsius.
