Apiccaps says Tokyo show can be Asian “launch-pad”

Fifteen Portuguese footwear companies are travelling to Japan to take part in the autumn 2017 Fashion World Tokyo event as part of what industry association Apiccaps has called the country’s biggest investment in the Asian shoe market in the last 20 years.

The association went on to say that it believes success in Japan will open up a number of other Asian markets for Portuguese shoe manufacturers and brands, referring to the Japanese market as “a launch-pad” for doing business in the rest of the region.

It added tht expanding into new market, especially outside Europe, is one of its biggest priorities for the Portuguese shoe industry over the next few years.
