UNIDO prepares to launch new footwear project in Armenia

The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) is preparing to open a new footwear training and development centre in Armenia.

With an investment of $2 million, the new facility will aim to help craftspeople in Armenia learn to make shoes of high enough quality to be exported to western European markets.

As well as footwear manufacturing skills development, UNIDO will use the new centre to help producers in Armenia improve in aspects of business such as export and financial management.
