BASF increases polyamide production at German plant

Chemicals manufacturer BASF has expanded its Schwarzheide factory in Germany and has said the additional capacity will allow it to produce an extra 70,000 tonnes per year of its Ultramid polyamide and Ultradur polybutylene terephthalate products.
BASF said its aim is to respond to “rising global demand” for these fibres. The project will create around 50 new jobs.
