The chief executive of footwear machinery manufacturer Brustia-Alfameccanica, Maria Vittoria Brustia, has been named as vice-president of employers’ association Confindustria in the Italian province of Pavia. She is one of five new vice-presidents, and the only woman, to have been appointed by the organisation  after a meeting in mid-May.

Brustia-Alfameccanica produces a wide range of machines for the footwear industry, ranging from moulding and upper-roughing machines to heeling and Goodyear welting technology.
