Footwear group Deckers has announced that its board will “review a broad range of strategic alternatives”, possibly including the sale of the company or of one of its brands.

Deckers brands include double-face sheepskin boot brand UGG, along with outdoor brands Hoka OneOne, Sanuk and Teva.

“We have made significant progress in streamlining our cost structure, optimising our retail store fleet, and realigning our brands, with the goal of improving profitability,” said Dave Powers, who took over from Angel Martinez as chief executive a year ago.

It said it would give more details of its plans at the end of May. It had already a $150 million savings programme.
