Drop in sterling’s value proves good news for Walsh

UK-based athletic shoe manufacturer Walsh has said the lower value of sterling following the referendum result in June 2016 in favour of leaving the European Union is helping it expand its presence in export markets.

It has had particular success in Japan and announced recently that new agreements with Japanese retail groups Ships and Sunspel have taken the number of outlets in Japan stocking Walsh shoes to more than 200.

“The markets appear very positive and exports are set to increase,” the company said.
