Four Chilean manufacturers now export shoes

These exports were worth $5.93 million, down 4.85% year-on-year. The average price of each pair was $19.21, a 7.7% drop compared to 2015.
The total number of companies exporting from Chile fell from 63 to 48 in 2016. Of these companies, only 4 manufacture their shoes in the country, with the rest re-exporting products imported from other countries.
Latin America is the destination for 71% of Chile’s shoe exports, the report reveals, with Peru the largest market. In 2016, it imported 102,613 pairs for a value of $2.1 million.
