Puma factory in Argentina to close

27/03/2017
Workers at a factory making Puma sports shoes in the province of La Rioja in Argentina have been told not to return to work following a summer-long lay-off; the factory will close with the loss of around 100 jobs.

The factory, run by an outsource manufacturing partner, Unisol, closed in December, with the workers being told to take an extended summer break. But the company has said conditions in the domestic market are too difficult for a restart in production to be viable.
