Footwear group Steve Madden has confirmed a 2.3% drop in sales during the fourth quarter of 2016. Total revenue for the period was $336.4 million, on which the company achieved net income of $28.7 million.

“While overall sales declined modestly due primarily to softness in our private label footwear and cold weather accessories businesses, we had outstanding top line growth in our core Steve Madden Women’s wholesale business,” explained Edward Rosenfeld, chairman and CEO of Steve Madden.

For the full year, Steve Madden’s net sales decreased 0.4% to $1.4 billion. Net income across the twelve months was $120.9 million.
