Total Shoe Concept has launched

21/02/2017
The founder of Total Shoe Concept, Hilde ter Steege, has said the online resource tool for shoe and accessories manufacturers is now fully up and running.

Ms ter Steege had a ‘soft launch’ of the tool, which she has likened to a leather sector-specific version of online homestay network Airbnb, at the end of 2016, and let it run for the month of January “to make sure there were no glitches”. The site came through that test successfully and is now live.

Total Shoe Concept offers leathergoods and footwear producers access to suppliers of leather and other components. It contains a database of companies spanning the entire supply chain who will pay an annual fee of $99 to advertise their materials, machinery, chemicals and services on the site. It makes it possible to source based on location so that sourcing professionals will be able to use it like Airbnb and find suppliers of the different components and materials they need, all in the same part of the world.

“Online is the future, and it’s good to have something dedicated to the footwear industry,” Hilde ter Steege said after the launch. “People in the industry recognise the need for this and have welcomed it.”
