Athleisure shoes continue to encourage Stella International

16/01/2017
Footwear group Stella International has announced full-year revenues of just under $1.5 billion for 2016 for its shoe production business. It also brought in revenues of $68.5 million from its footwear retail business in China. Its total revenues for the year showed a decline of 12.4% year on year.

“The decline in revenue and shipment volumes was mostly attributed to the continued
weakness in casual footwear products,” Stella said in a statement. “This was partially offset by the increasing
demand for our athleisure products, which remains one of our key growth drivers.”

Chief executive, Lawrence Chen, said he believes Stella’s performance will stabilise in 2017.
