Shoe sales weaken for Belle International in third quarter

Chinese women’s shoe group Belle International has reported a 13.4% decline in shoe sales year on year for the third quarter of its business year, the period comprising the months of September, October and November 2016.

The group has 13,145 footwear stores across mainland China. It announced previously that it would close around 400 stores in the course of 2016.

Belle International has 13 brands of its own, including Belle, Joy & Peace and Mirabell.

However, the group also runs stores in China for seven international brands (Bata, Mephisto, CAT, Hush Puppies, Fitflop, Clarks and Merrell).
