Optimistic Zanotti opens new boutique in Moscow

Situated in the plush shopping district of Stoleshnikov Lane, the new Zanotti boutique proved popular on the opening night with much of Moscow’s gliteratti, the footwear brand claimed.
Last month, the president of Italian footwear association Assocalzaturifici, Annarita Pilotti, says orders at the Moscow-based Obuv’ Mir Koži show had seen a “signigicant drop” and she called for the event to be rescheduled in the future.
Ms Pilotti said there had been a drop of between 30% and 50% in orders, with high-end Italian products hit especially hard. She added that the decrease came as a shock to Assocal, but said the drop in value of the rouble and continuing economic uncertainty meant it would have to wait longer before the footwear market in Russia improves.
Giuseppe Zanotti (pictured), who travelled to Moscow for the opening of his new store, appears more optimistic.
