The Extreme RR model features Northwave’s XFrame technology, which the company says eliminates all pressure points on the shoe’s upper. It has a new upper construction, an inner mesh for increased comfort and a stiffened mid layer for even support throughout the shoe. It also has a wear-resistant outer film for extra protection.
“We have been working on the XFrame technology for long, designing carefully every angle of the cable and choosing the softest materials ever for our shoes, and the result is a very innovative solution, providing by far the snuggest and most even fit ever on a road shoe,” said Northwave Founder and Owner Gianni Piva.
Northwave also introduced the latest editions to its Outcross line, which features the Explorer outsole developed alongside Michelin Technical Soles. It says this range is ideal for the modern mountain bike rider as it performs well on challenging terrain.
The Michelin sole features a calibrated stiffness midsole for effective power transmission when riding and has good flexibility to guarantee good performance and comfort. The OC Compound rubber tread used by Michelin provides good grip on a variety of surfaces.
The new offerings include the Outcross Knit, the first knitted cycling shoe. Northwave says the knitted upper offers excellent comfort and breathability and is reinforced with impact-resistant thermowelded features to offer complete protection.
