13/07/2016
A former Dior designer, Pierre Hardy started working for Hermès in 1990 taking charge first of its women’s shoe collections and adding men’s collections later. In 1999, Mr Hardy set up his own company but continued to take charge of the Hermès footwear collections.
Now Hermès is strengthening its ties with the designer by taking a minority stake in his company. “The agreement highlights Hermès’ ambition to contribute to the label’s global growth and confirms the close relationship that has developed over the years between Hermès and Pierre Hardy,” the luxury group said on making the announcement.
For his part, Pierre Hardy said he was very pleased by the development, calling Hermès “a house that champions the exceptional”.
