London student wins Cordwainers award for 2016
Caroline Klemp, a footwear design student at the London College of Fashion, is the winner of the 2016 Cordwainers National Footwear Student of the Year competition. She took the top prize at a special ceremony in London on June 9 for an entry entitled ‘Maverick’, which had watersports as its  main inspiration.

Chair of the judging panel for the competition, Katie Greenyer, creative director for Pentland Brands, said Caroline Klemp’s work had shown real breadth, with a collection comprising boots, slingbacks and sandals. “Her collection is humble, honest and bursting with ideas,” Ms Greenyer said.

The footwear industry’s livery company in the City of London, The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, presented Ms Klemp with a gold medal to mark her achievement.
