06/06/2016
Footwear manufacturers in Spain exported 46.3 million pairs of shoes and boots in the first quarter of 2016, bringing in revenue of €843 million. These figures represent flat volumes, but a 3% decline in revenues compared to the same quarter in 2015.

Footwear industry body FICE said this was the first quarter in four years in which export revenues for Spanish shoes had dropped.

Shipments to other European Union countries represented 79% of the volume and 77% of the value. Exports outside the European Union registered an increase of 3% in volume and of 4% in value.
