Assintecal names new president

The new Assintecal president is chief executive of Killing SA, a Novo Hamburgo-based provider of specialist dyes and adhesives. Mr Killing was Assintecal’s president between 1996 and 2002. He said on taking up the post again that he will aim to forge greater unity among suppliers to the leather industry in Brazil in an attempt to make Brazilian shoes and leather more competitive in the global market.
“This is going to be hard work,” he said. “ The economic crisis has slowed down the development of the components sector, but it has not stagnated. We’ve got to get the development of the sector going again and place our products at a high level of global competitiveness.”
