Good news for footwear components firms as Spain’s domestic shoe production lifts

Spain’s main footwear components manufacturers’ association, AEC, has said an increase in production volumes in the domestic market and the success of Spanish-made shoes in recent times in important export markets have combined to provide component companies with a substantial boost.

Recent reports in local media have suggested the footwear components sector in Spain grew in value by as much as 10% last year.

The organisation’s president, Manuel Román, has said he expects further growth in 2016 and in the years ahead.
