Declines in Pakistan’s footwear exports continue

Results for January show that Pakistan’s total leather sector exports fell by 25% during the first seven months of current financial year (July 2015-January 2016), dropping to $590 million.

Over the period, there were exports of 6.8 million pairs of shoes, with a value of $77.5 million. Leather shoes contributed $50.5 million to this total. Volumes fell by 9.3% year on year and values by 21.1%.
