UITIC Congress organisers expect a record attendance

The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has said more than 550 delegates will take part in the nineteenth UITIC Congress, which will take place in Chennai from February 3-5.

Joint organisers UITIC and India’s Council for Leather Exports announced in the build-up to the event that the total number of delegates in 2016 will represent a record for the UITIC Congress. In all, there will be 170 delegates from overseas, representing 28 different countries, with the rest coming from the main footwear-producing regions of India.

In keeping with the main theme, the 30 presentations at the event will attempt to outline what the footwear factory of the future is likely to look like.
