Material manufacturer takes a big footwear component step

The company’s director of innovation, Dr Thomas Schmidt, told the 2015 Manufacturers’ Forum of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSI) in Hong Kong on December 3 that innovation Hua Feng has been able to bring to the mesh fabrics it makes in Fujian province has allowed it to turn the fabrics into what he called semi-finished footwear upper components.
“The components we make are nearly finished,” Dr Schmidt explained. “All the footwear factory needs to do is attach the outsole, do a little bit of stitching around the heel, attach the tongue and the shoe is good to go.”
