BASF makes its largest investment ever at Ludwigshafen

Chemicals manufacturer BASF has announced the start of operations at a new production facility at its Ludwigshafen headquarters that will make 300,000 tonnes of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) per year. TDI is a core component of polyurethanes.
With a total investment of more than €1 billion, BASF said this is the largest investment it has ever made at the site; it will create around 200 new jobs.
