Italian machinery manufacturers in new Vietnam deal

Italy is to work with researchers and manufacturers in Vietnam to set up a new technology centre in the Asian country. The announcement came in mid-November during a forum called the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Dialogue, set up as part of a visit to Vietnam by Italy’s president, Sergio Mattarella.

Vietnamese footwear manufacturers will be able to use the centre to introduce Italian technology and machinery to their workers, with Italian technicians travelling to Vietnam to offer instruction and advice.

Another possible outcome is that Vietnamese manufacturers will receive favourable terms for investing in new machinery from Italy.
