He explained at the end of the event that 841 of these exhibitors were from Italy and 602 from overseas. In total, including the host country, 37 countries were represented among the footwear manufacturers who exhibited their spring-summer 2016 collections at the event.
Mr Borghini said he was confident final visitor numbers would be in keeping with attendances at the same edition of Micam in recent years, around 34,000.
