Volume down but value up for footwear in Pakistan

Pakistan’s overall leather exports fell in value by 6.1% in the financial year the ended in June, dropping to just over $1.2 billion, compared to almost $1.3 billion in the previous financial year. Pakistan’s financial year runs from July to June each year.

In July 2014-June 2015, Pakistan exported 13.9 million pairs of shoes with a value of $131.2 million, a decline of 13.4% in volume but an increase in value of almost 10.2%. This means the average price per pair of exported shoes has gone up to $9.43.
