More than 600 exhibitors took part in the latest edition of the event, with organisers saying they expected these participating companies to receive orders for a combined total of 7 million pairs of shoes.
Mr Garganza, who has been in the business for 20 years, was part of a select group of around 30 international executives to take part in a special buyers’ programme that the organisers put in place. It’s the second year running in which he has travelled from Guatemala to order leather footwear and accessories.
Speaking to local media, Mr Garganza said he intends to increase the volume of Colombian products in his ranges. He added: “People all over the world know that Bucaramanga is one of the best places from which to source leather and leather products. We are convinced that Colombian quality can help us stand out from competitors sourcing from China.”
