Elche expansion for Inditex footwear group

Reports from Spain say fashion group Inditex is preparing to invest almost €6 million in the development of the logistics centre its footwar manufacturing division, Tempe, runs in Elche.

Inditex, the parent group of fashion retail chain Zara, has said it wants to expand the Tempe site, building new storage space as well as a new office and management suite. In all, the expansion project will cover more than 20,000 square-metres.

A spokesperson for the local authorities, Patricia Macià, has said the Tempe project is proof that there is a need for extra industrial space in Elche, which is Spain’s principal footwear manufacturing hub. She said there were plans in place to construct a whole new industrial park there some time in the next four years.
