Huntsman makes polyurethane elastomer acquisition in Italy

Chemicals group Huntsman Corporation has completed the acquisition of Italian company Tecnoelastomeri, a manufacturer of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) based hot-cast elastomer systems and processing machines.

Based in Modena Tecnoelastomeri achieved sales of approximately $12 million in 2014. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Huntsman said it was pleased to have seized an opportunity to strengthen its position in polyurethanes.
