Luxury men’s footwear company Harrys of London is to work with French designer Christian Lahoude on a new concept for its London flagship store. The company’s plan is to roll the new design out across all its stores at a later date.

Currently it sells its shoes and accessories in retail stores in the UK, Japan, the Middle East, online and in prestigious department stores and specialty retailers in more than 20 countries.

Located in the Burlington Arcade in the West End of London, the company’s flagship store will unveil its new look on July 9.

Christian Lahoude has worked on architectural design projects for Alexander Wang, Jimmy Choo, Tiffany and Gucci and will work collaboratively with Harrys of London creative director, Kevin Martel.

On announcing the project, Mr Martel said: “As Harrys of London expands internationally, I wanted to evolve our original Mayfair ‘library’ concept into something that reflects our combination of craftsmanship and innovation. Christian has exceptional taste and understands luxury retail for a global audience.”

Mr Lahoude said he had begun his work on the project by examining in detail the design of historic London libraries. He said the end result was “London design made relevant for a global audience”.
