New shoe factory in Tunisia will create 2,000 jobs

A footwear company called Toscani Manifatture has announced the opening of a new factory in an industrial zone near Djebel El-Oust in the Zaghouan region of north-eastern Tunisia.

The company has said it will make uppers for high-end footwear brands in 2015 and 2016, but will produce finished shoes of its own from 2017 onwards.

Toscani Manifatture has said the new production plant will employ up to 2,000 people.
