Vibram aims to connect Girls on the Run council members with local retailers to participate in sales programme in support of the Girls on the Run. Vibram will donate 5% of sales of all Vibram-soled shoes, including sales of Vibram FiveFingers, to the organisation through participating retail partners.
Girls on the Run hosts hundreds of 5K events in local communities across the US each year; in 2015 it will reach the milestone of 1 million participants.
Vibram’s chief marketing officers, Allon Cohne, described the sponsorship of Girls on the Run as a programme that “gives back to the next generation”.
Athletic footwear brands whose Vibram-soled shoes are eligible for the programme include New Balance, Saucony, Hoka One One, Merrell and The North Face.
Pakistan’s Trade Development Authority (TDAP) has said it will offer a subsidy to footwear manufacturers in the Asian country to take part in the next edition of the Expo Riva Schuh event, which will take place at Riva del Garda in Italy from June 13-16.
A spokesman of Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) told leatherbiz that more than 15 companies are likely to participate.
