Growth continues for Portugal

Fortunato Federico, the president of Portuguese footwear induststry association APICCAPS, has said the organisation is still analysing the sector’s figures for 2014, but that definitive statistics for the first nine months of the year show good growth.

Mr Federico said that his member companies exported 65 million pairs between January and September 2014, bringing in export revenues of €1.5 billion.

In 2013, full-year figures showed that Portugal exported around 74 million pairs with a value of €1.7 billion.
