Footwear group Genesco has announced its longstanding chief financial officer, James Gulmi, is retiring at the end of the fiscal year.

Mr Gulmi has served as Genesco’s CFO since 1986, and will continue as senior adviser for a year.

He will be succeeded by Mimi Vaughn, the company’s senior vice-president of strategy.

“Serving with six different chief executives, Jim has been the constant thread running through successive chapters of a long and successful transformation of the Company into a market-leading specialty retailer,” said Genesco’s CEO, Robert Dennis.

The group operates in six segments: Journeys Group, Underground Station Group, Schuh Group, Lids Sports Group, Johnston & Murphy Group and Licensed Brands.
